Chemical-Free and Fully Autonomous Weed Control System

Developed by Çeliker Technology under the TÜBİTAK 1501 Industrial R&D Cooperation Call, the AI-powered Autonomous Unmanned Agricultural Ground Vehicle is an innovative technological solution aiming to increase productivity in agricultural production, reduce environmental impacts, and promote sustainable agricultural practices.

This system autonomously moves among field crops, detecting weeds in real time and performing pinpoint destruction using laser technology without the need for chemical herbicides.

The current system has been developed for chickpeas, and work is underway to increase product diversity in the future.

 

System Architecture and Operating Principle

The developed product has an integrated and multi-layered technology infrastructure.

 

Imaging and Detection Infrastructure

High-resolution cameras positioned on the front and bottom of the vehicle continuously and instantly capture images of the field surface. These images enable the system to perceive its surroundings and analyze the vegetation.

 

AI-Based Weed Detection

Developed within Çeliker Technology, this unique AI model performs real-time image processing on captured images, distinguishing between cultivated plants and weeds with high accuracy. The model precisely determines the location of the detected weed and uses laser destruction.

 

Laser Precision Destruction Mechanism

The laser destruction mechanism integrated under the vehicle delivers a precise target to the root zone of the weed detected by the AI, ensuring effective weed destruction. This method only affects the targeted weed, avoiding damage to surrounding cultivated plants.

 

Fully Autonomous and Non-Interventional Operation

The system has autonomous movement capabilities within the field without requiring human intervention. This structure increases operational efficiency while minimizing labor requirements.

 

Sustainable and Environmentally Friendly Approach

With the developed system:
